Tomorrow morning at 7:50 am the Masters will get started and the race for the season’s first major will begin. Most eyes will be on Tiger Woods and his hunt for his 15th major but there are plenty of other stories to watch this week. But let’s get to Tiger first.
Tiger comes into this Masters with his first bit a momentum in 3 years after his win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational 2 weeks ago. He is the betting man’s favorite at 4/1 this week and a win would force everyone to admit he is back in business. His 4 Masters victories show that Tiger loves this course and it is set up for him to win. The key for Tiger will be his putting as it always been. He will crush drives and even if he is offline on his drives the trouble is not enough at Augusta to hurt him. He will hit his irons and will probably be in the top 10 in GIR but putting will be the key to this tournament. If Tiger hits putts he will be in contention on Saturday if not in the lead.
5 Golfers to Watch Not Named Tiger Woods
The number 2 golfer in the world has some demons to put to bed at Augusta but if he can get past that he could win this thing.
The tours only 2 time winner this season is playing great golf at the right time. He has the game to play well at Augusta.
The 3-time champ should love being paired with Mahan, who will push Lefty and plus with the way they are playing they could be playing together all week.
The 2011 PGA Champ is the only player with an active Major streak and he has the game to win here. Great friends with Mickelson, I am sure Bradley has picked his brain.
Dark Horse Pick Other than Lionel Messi: Kyle Stanley
Kyle has the game to play well at Augusta and I fully expect him to do it. He has played well this year and Augusta has been welcoming to guys looking for their first major considering 3 of the last 5 winners were first time major winners.
