The Morning Dump: 7/11/12

If you get the time you need to check out Ted.  The movie was funny as hell and worth the $10.

The N.L. shut the A.L. bats down and dominated the All-Star Game 8-0 last night.  Pablo Sandoval and Melky Cabrera led the hit parade for the old timers.  If the Giants continue their strong play they will reap the benefits of home field advantage.

$3 million worth of baseball cards from 1910 were found in a Ohio attic.  To get in on this action I went up into my attic and found a dead squirrel.

As the MLB trade deadline approaches get ready to see Cole Hamels change the playoff race.  I think his new home will be the Rangers.

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock for Brees, Rice, MJD to get long-term deals.

The Howard to the Nets trade will not happen with a team from the East as their 3rd team.  Either a Western team steps in and joins or makes a trade with Orlando for Howard outright.  I still think he goes to the Lakers but Houston would not surprise.

Check out Yahoo’s Chris Chase’s take on Tyler Clary bashing Micheal Phelps’ work ethic.  Does Tyler Clary know that people only talk to him because they think he is Phelps in the pool?

If Allmendinger’s B-sample comes back positive, I hope he hires Mayfield’s lawyer.  That worked well for him.

Kevin Love will be the best player for the U.S.A. in the 2012 Olympics.  His size and shooting fit the international game very well.

Even though he got shelled for 5 runs in the 1st inning last night, Justin Verlander was probably feeling pretty good in the arms of Kate Upton afterwards.  She is a top 3 WAG All-Time.
