Breaking News: Robert Griffin Cut

In a move that shocked the world, Robert Griffin has been released.  This may be the end of a career that many thought would resurrect a franchise.  I was able to get a hold of him shortly after his release and here are his candid comments.

Jumbo:  Sorry about the news Robert.  How are you holding up?

Robert:  I’m alright.  I am just looking for any team to give me a chance to perform.

Jumbo:  Do you think that you may go down as a major bust?

Robert:  No.  I don’t think I was really expected to do a lot.

Jumbo:  What do you mean?  Didn’t the Redskins trade away their entire future for you? Continue reading

The Morning Dump: 8/31/12

I am so excited for this weekend, I don’t know what to do.  The opening weekend of college football is my 2nd favorite of the year.  Just behind next week’s NFL opening.

Nadal, Federer and Joker have 33 majors between them.  Roddick has 1 and Brooklyn Decker.  Enjoy your retirement Andy.

Davey Johnson told Strasburg he has 2-3 more starts to go before the Nationals shut him down.  In a move that will be second guessed forever, the Nats are folding to Scott Boras and shutting down the Yankee’s future ace.

I think a beltline series between the Orioles and Nationals would be great for baseball. Continue reading

Kenny Britt Gets One Game Suspension

I think fighting with the New Orleans Saints have worn down Roger Goodell.  There is no way the Roger Goodell of 2011 would give a one game suspension to a player that has been arrested 8 times in 3 years.  Goodell’s spirit is broke and it is open season for players to run wild.  So get out there and slap your girls and get your DUI’s.  Dad’s not watching.

TSD College Football Primer: Week 1

Each week I will pick the top games in the country against the spread and post my results.  My BetOnline.com account is loaded and I am ready to go.

Thursday             8/30/12

#9 South Carolina (-6.5) at Vanderbilt 7pm ESPN

Vandy is sitting at a 6.5 dog at home and I am taking that action.  I like South Carolina a lot this season, but opening up with a prime time conference game is an upset waiting to happen.

Washington State at BYU (-11.5) 10:15pm ESPN

Mike Leach returns to coaching at his Alma Mater, WSU.  Both the Cougars should put up solid offensive numbers, but the WSU Cougars will have no chance at slowing down the BYU Cougars.  I think Leach’s offense will give me enough to cover the 11.5.  BONUS BET: Over 65.5 All Day Long  Continue reading

The Morning Dump: 8/29/12

Hurricane Isaac is hitting harder in New Orleans than it did in Florida and I am sure Roger Goodell will be looking into it very closely.

The Los Angeles Angels have to be the biggest disappointments in baseball.  Mike Scioscia will be managing in Boston next season.

Gov. Chris Christie talked for 16 minutes last night before he mentioned Romney’s name in the keynote speech at the RNC.  The Rom can’t be happy with that.

I like how Shad Khan is handling the MJD holdout.  How bad do you need the game’s best RB if you went 5-11 with him?  Continue reading
