Cameroon Olympic officials are looking for 7 members of their 2012 Olympic team, after they left the Olympic village and are loose in London. The British government would love to help, but the athletes (entire boxing team, swimmer and a soccer player) have work visas that allow them to be in the country until November so they are not a priority for the British government to track down. I expect them to enjoy the sights of London and check in to the British Embassy in a few days to ask for asylum.
This whole story shocks me. Why would they want to leave a country where 1/3 of the population makes less than $1.25 (US) a day?
This has to be a dream of almost every athlete in a 3rd world country. I will train, train and train, then one day I get to sneak out of the Olympic village and never go back to Cameroon, North Korea, Cuba, China, etc…
Good Luck Guys!
