The USA comes into the 12-match Sunday with a 10-4 lead and only needs 4.5 pts to clinch. If the Europeans want to win, they will have to have a big time comeback like the USA in ’99, but that will be very hard with the American crowd in the background.

Needing an early win, Denny Hamlin called his shot on Twitter and backed it up with a dominating win in Loudon. Hamlin may have won the battle, but Jimmie Johnson is winning the war with 2 straight 2nd place finishes to lead the chase after 2 races.
2012 NASCAR Chase Standings after Race 2 of 10
|1. Jimmie Johnson
||With 7 Dover wins and 4 wins in the last 7 Dover races, JJ is the clear favorite this week.
|2. Brad Keselowski
||The Blue Duce is looking to just stay out of trouble and inside the top 10 in Dover. Keselowski has an average finish of 17 in Dover and has never had a top 10.
|3. Denny Hamlin
||Like Brad, Denny is just looking to survive in Dover. Stay safe and finish the race near the front is the goal.
|4. Tony Stewart
||The Monster Mile ate up Smoke back in June, but we should look for a bounce back race.
|5. Kasey Kahne
||Kahne has an average finish of 22 at Dover, but 5 top 10’s so he could contend for a good finish. I just don’t see it. Continue reading
The refs are back and they did great last night, but how long will the honeymoon last? I think Gene Steratore is gunning for a movie deal.
The Tigers win and the White Sox lose to give the Tigers a 2 game lead in the A.L. Central.
The Huskies upset #9 Stanford last night to shake up the PAC12.
Get ready to stop flopping,
Take it easy on the couches WVU. Marconi might burn his own couch up in Raleigh because of this PSA.
The college football schedule is not too impressive overall this weekend, but we should have some quality games. I love the Baylor/WVU matchup and can’t wait for the airshow. The upset watch will be in Stillwater as the Longhorns come to town.
Last Week: 5-5 (20-19)
Last Week Pick That Made Me Look Smart:
Betting KSU to cover and beat Oklahoma was big. Oklahoma was looking suspect and K-State was underrated.
Last Week Pick That Made Me Look Bad:
Thinking Arizona could stay within 24 points of Oregon was stupid. The Duck’s D is the real deal and they are a prime contender for a SEC beat down in the BCS Championship.
#8 Stanford (-6.5) at Washington 9pm ESPN
Can Josh Nunez be Andrew Luck’s Tee Martin? The Stanford Cardinals are a disciplined team that is straight set up for success. I love the pressure they put on the QB and get after the ball. Their offense won’t overpower Washington, but they will get a double-digit win.
#25 Baylor at #9 West Virginia (-13.5) 12pm FX
West Virginia gets its 1st taste of the BIG12 this weekend with the 3-0 Baylor Bears coming to town. If you love offense, you will love this game. Both rank in the top 10 in points and yards per game in the nation and they both have D’s ranked in the hundreds. I love the talent of WVU and I think they will give the Bears the 14 points and run away. Even at 81.5, I’m taking the over all day long. Continue reading
Has anyone who has ever said “I was born ready”, been ready?
Under Armor sponsored Tom Brady met with the media yesterday and had tape over the Nike swoosh on his sweatshirt. FINE TIME!
We get the regular refs we love to hate back. Is anyone else rooting for a game changing blown call tonight?
What happens when you headbutt a man for calling you mother and sister a whore? You get a statue.
Miggy didn’t get his 42nd HR (Damn you Alex Gordon), but the Tigers passed the White Sox for 1st place in the A.L. Central for the 1st time since July.
What’s Chael Sonnen been up to since Jon Jones refused to fight him? Being hilarious.
Welp. 1-4 last week. I missed a few that I thought were shoo-ins, apparently New Orleans really is that bad, and I got a bit lucky with the last play on Monday night. We’ll look to improve this week. Continue reading
The Dump is a little late today due to a Dr.’s appointment for the record-breaking Copeland boy my wife is brewing.
Is a deal going to get done between the NFL and the Officials? We can only hope so.
With the Braves clinching 1 wild card spot last night, the N.L. has only one spot up for grabs for the Cardinals, Dodgers and Brewers. The Cardinals are in the driver’s seat for it.
Look’s like the Charlotte Observer is starting to sour on Mr. Newton. Are they trying to make him pout more?

Former Cy Young winner, Eric Gagne claims that 80% of his Dodger teammates were using PED’s in the mid to late 2000’s.
This pic of Rhonda Rousey was deemed “Too Sexy” to be in Oxygen magazine, but just right for The Sports Dump.
