The Morning Dump: 9/4/12

Opening this fine September morning with some classic Springsteen.  You should too.

This is the best time to be a sports fan.  The NFL is starting back, college ball is here, baseball races are solid and the Chase is about to start.  I better buy my wife something pretty.

Big time win at the Deutsche Bank Championship for Rory McIlroy.  He closed great with Tiger and others chasing him.

Virginia Tech got out of it’s only tough division game for the season with a win.  In the first week.  The ACC Coastal division is weak and it looks like Va Tech is the only real talent in it.

UCLA’s top 3 basketball recruits are waiting to here from the NCAA on their status amid evidence turned in by another university on their recruitment.

Game, set, match to Mr. Shad Kahn.  MJD ended his holdout and reported to the Jags with the same contract he left with.  I predict he will not be a top 10 RB this year.

The Baltimore Orioles are 1 game out of 1st on September 4th.  WOW!

What happens first?  Bobby Valentine gets fired or does he quit.

In a sport that is already having trouble, can the NHL afford a lockout?  I don’t think so.

6 drivers are in the hunt for the last spot in the Chase, but it’s a 2-man race between Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon.  Both are strong at Richmond and are only separated by 12 pts (Busch leads).

Joey Logano looks to move to Penske and Kenseth will take his seat at JGR.

Ronaldo is sad.  Has the greatness of Messi gotten to him or did he see the Spanish beach volleyball team hanging with Messi again?
