There is no way the BCS can shake up more than it did last week, right? I don’t see it, but I didn’t see last week coming either. If Notre Dame meets Alabama in the title game, the game will be the most watched game ever. It will also be a huge Alabama win, but we will talk about that when we get there.
Last Week: 2-4 (48-54-2, 48%)
TCU at #18 Texas (-7.5) 7:30pm ESPN
With Texas A&M in the SEC, we have lost the traditional Thanksgiving Texas vs. Texas A&M game and gained the old TCU/Texas rivalry. Texas still has a shot of the BIG12 title, but will need to win vs. TCU and K-State next week to get there. This game is going to come down to who’s run D can stop the other’s rushing game. Advantage Texas.
I have a feeling the Brady Hoke vs. Urban Meyer rivalry is going to go down the long storied history of both these programs. They don’t like each other and it shows. Denard Robinson’s elbow injury actually makes this Wolverine team better vs. Ohio State with Devin Gardner at QB. Gardner is a better passer and this will open up Roundtree and Gallon more. If Ohio State can force Gardner to make mistakes, the Bucks will roll. I feel a Michigan upset.
#5 Oregon (-10) at #16 Oregon State 3pm PAC12 Network
Stanford gave you the plan, Oregon State. Will you follow it? The Beavers have a strong D and if their athletes can keep their assignments then the upset could happen. The Duck are mad and they don’t plan to give the Beavs their first Civil War win since 2007. With a BCS bowl still in the mix, the Ducks are going to handle their business on the road. Ducks by 2 TDs.
For some reason this Florida State gets no respect and the Florida team is getting way too much. There is nothing I have seen from the Gators that makes me think they can score enough points to make this a game. With the 115th ranked passing game, the Gators are going to get teed off on by the Seminole pass rush and Jeff Driskel’s 1st game back may not last long.
#11 Stanford (-2) at #15 UCLA 6:30pm FOX
Stanford is in control of the PAC12 North and if they beat UCLA this weekend, they will get the Bruins again in the PAC12 Title game for a Rose Bowl berth. Stanford is bigger, stronger and tougher and UCLA is faster, quicker and more electric. The physical teams win in November and that is what’s going to happen. Get ready to see this game again in 2 weeks.
#13 South Carolina at #12 Clemson (-4) 7pm ESPN
One thing I miss from my Columbia, SC days is the hype week for this game. THIS is the game that the state of South Carolina revolves around. Dabo and the Visor do not like each other and the trash talk between them is great. The Gamecocks are looking for their 4th straight victory over the Tigers, but it won’t happen. This Clemson team is legit and they will give the ACC its 2nd big victory over the SEC this weekend.
This game has lost some heat with Matt Barkley’s injury, but there is nothing that USC would love more than to knock the Irish out of the BCS title game. The Trojans still have one of the best offensive players in college in Marqise Lee, so they will be dangerous for the Irish on Saturday. If I was Notre Dame my biggest concern would be the new SI cover this week. One week after the SI jinx cursed K-State, Notre Dame gets their chance to break it.
