It’s time to crown some conference champs and close this season out. Notre Dame is sitting at home and waiting for the SEC Championship to decide their opponent. Will the Big East end in a 4-way tie? Can Georgia Tech or Wisconsin win the conference they shouldn’t even be in the hunt for? Will K-State be over their loss to Baylor? Let’s find out.
Last Week: 3-4 (51-58-2, 47%)
Louisville at Rutgers (-2) 7:30pm ESPN
If Rutgers handles it’s business and wins, then they win the Big East and earn a BCS bowl. If Louisville wins, then all hell breaks loose and we have 4 way tie for the Big East title (Rutgers, Louisville, Syracuse and Cinci). Rutgers will handle the load and put it on the ACC’s newest member at home.
Is the BCS ready for the MAC? They better be, because the winner of the MAC Championship will be ranked ahead of the Big East champ and will get an automatic BCS bid to face FSU or Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl. MAC POY Jordan Lynch will carry NIU to the win and to the BCS.
PAC12 Championship: #17 UCLA at #8 Stanford (-9.5) 8pm FOX
Did you watch this game last week? If you said yes, then just watch the MAC instead. If you didn’t watch it last week, enjoy another Stanford beatdown of the Bruins.
SEC Championship: #2 Alabama (-7.5) vs. #3 Georgia 4pm CBS
The winner gets Notre Dame for the BCS title and the loser gets to watch Florida take the other BCS at-large bid for the SEC. I like the Georgia team, but I love this Bama squad. They are truly the best team in the nation and a Bama should give the country the game they want to see for the title. On a side note… Georgia’s only national title came in 1980 when they beat ND in the Sugar Bowl.
The Longhorns come to Manhattan looking to spoil K-State’s chances at a BIG12 title, but the Wildcats aren’t having any of that. Look for Collin Klein to get back in the Heisman race with a monster game against Texas and get the Wildcats to their 1st BCS bowl since 1997.
ACC Championship: #13 Florida State (-14.5) vs. Georgia Tech 8pm
The Yellow Jackets are going to be in real trouble when FSU gets going in Charlotte on Saturday night. The Jackets are only in this game because UNC and Miami are on a bowl ban and they are overmatched. FSU is pissed they got rolled up by Florida and they are going to take it out on GT. Big win for FSU and a
dream sorry matchup vs. the MAC champ.
BIG10 Championship: #14 Nebraska (-2.5) vs. Wisconsin 8pm
Just like it is for the ACC Championship, Wisconsin is only in because Penn State and Ohio State are banned from bowls, but unlike the ACC Championship, this should be a game. Look for both running games to play well and for Nebraska to win close like they did in September.
