This has been pretty crazy already, but more news keeps coming. Did anyone see Tommy Tuberville leaving Texas Tech?
In the first shocker so far, Bret Bielema is walking away from Wisconsin and taking his talents to Arkansas. I’m as shocked as Barry Alvarez is. Bielema will not coach the Rose Bowl and former coach/current AD Barry Alvazez will take those reigns.
2. Tennessee (C)
Butch Jones is the newest coach for Tennessee. Jones was not the first choice for the Vols, but the Volunteer faithful should be happy with the hire. Jones becomes the latest Bearcat’s coach to walk to a power team.
3. Auburn (C)
Gus Malzahn is going back to Auburn to replace the man he coached under and gets set to be Nick Saban’s whipping boy.
4. Wisconsin (N/A)
There are no more top MAC candidates for the BIG10 to take, so I see Chris Ash staying on staff and moving up to Head Coach. I don’t see a shocking hire from Alvarez here.
Dave Doeren is the newest head football coach of NC State. Good hire by State in my eyes. Sonny Dykes would have been fun to watch, but the 2-time MAC Champ is solid.
6. Texas Tech (N/A)
The Red Raiders were left scratching their heads after Tuberville bolted for Cincinnati, but was never a great fit in Lubbock. Former Texas Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury will be the fan bases 1st choice and he will get an interview. I have been surprised about how little run he has received in this coaching fun that has happened over the past few weeks. Butch Davis will be rumored for this job and may be the leader.
7. California (A)
Cal has spent the money on facilities and they now just need a coach to get them to the top of the PAC12. Sonny Dykes will make the Bears more fun to watch and if he can recruit in California, he may become a PAC12 legend.
8. Purdue (B)
Kent State’s Darrell Hazell is the next head coach of Purdue and the MAC just lost another great coach.
Temple’s Steve Addazio has taken the Boston College job. Addazio came out of nowhere and stole the job from Aaron Kromer.
10. Kentucky (D)
FSU DC Mark Stoops is the new Head Coach of the University of Kentucky. Good luck with that.
11. Colorado (N/A)
The Buffs are the current whipping boys of the PAC12, but they have the history to make this a great job. The job no one wants is still open. Will Bobby Petrino come and save the Buffs?
