TSD 1-on-1 All-Time Basketball Challenge Elite 8: #1 Wilt Chamberlain vs. #4 Hakeem Olajuwon

imagesOur Final Four is missing just one last spot and we get an epic big man battle today.  Wilt showed us a surprisingly efficent mid-range jumper game and proved he wasn’t just an inside banger.  The Dream is a bit more polished on the offensive side and that may be the key to this game.

  1. The Dream is just too good all around, he won’t cruise to the win like he has the rest of this tourney, but he will win. Wilt is a beast and will score some points around the basket, but the career leader in blocks will send a few of those finger rolls into the 10th row. The Dream should take it 15-12.

  2. Before this tournament started I had always thought that Wilt Chamberlain would win if matched up against any other center in the history of the game. I don’t believe that now. Olajuwon is the most complete big man the game has ever seen. He has pure offensive moves that don’t belong on 7-footer. His quickness makes him impossible to guard 1-on-1 and his defensive skills are rivaled by NO ONE. Wilt is the 2nd best defensive big man ever, so Hakeem won’t score at will and Wilt has enough offensive game to make it a fight. When the dust settles, The Dream is going to take it. Hakeem Wins 15-11
