Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season is in the books and I finished a manageable 9-6-1 on my bets. I missed on the over and the Cincy road win, but I hit big on the Jets win and the Eagles win. Not the best week, but I will take it to open the season. It’s how Meatloaf put it in his famous song [Singing Poorly] “9 out of 15 with 1 push aint bad”.
I had this one wrong BIG TIME. I knew one pass rush would have trouble getting to the QB, I just thought it would be Denver’s.
Patriots -9.5 at Bills 1pm CBS (Patriots 23 Bills 21)
Can these new look Pats win by dbl-digits on the road? Hell yes they can.
Seahawks -3.5 at
Panthers 1pm FOX (Seahawks 12 Panthers 7)
Long road trip and Carolina’s young active D will keep it close.
Bengals +3 at Bears 1pm CBS (Bears 24 Bengals 21)
Taking the road dog to cover and win.
This game should be fun to watch, as 2 young offenses try to get their legs. Browns win at home.
Vikings +5 at Lions 1pm FOX (Lions 34 Vikings 24)
2 teams going the opposite way. The Lions take the next step and win big.
Raiders +10 at
Colts 1pm CBS (Colts 21 Raiders 17)
I want to say the Raiders will show up and make this game watchable, but I don’t see it happening.
Chiefs -4 at Jaguars 1pm CBS (Chiefs 28 Jags 2)
This game will be more unwatchable than the Raiders/Colts game.
The Superdome will be unfriendly to the Falcons for Sean Payton’s return. I’m also jumping all over the
Over at 54.5 points.
Buccaneers -3.5 at Jets 1pm FOX (Jets 18 Bucs 17)
The Jets are bad, but the Bucs are not good enough to win the opener on the road in NY.
Titans +7 at Steelers 1pm CBS Titans 16 Steelers 9)
I’m not sold on the Titans or anything, I just don’t think the Steelers should be a TD favorite over anybody.
Packers +4.5 at 49ers 4:25pm FOX (49ers 34 Packers 28)
The 49ers defense will be all over Rodgers and the Packers soft O-Line.
I feel bad for the folks in Arizona and Missouri that don’t have DirectTV and will be forced to watch this game.
Giants +3.5 at Cowboys 8:30pm NBC (Cowboys 36 Giants 31)
The Giants offense has some holes to fill and will have trouble vs. Dallas’ new 4-3.
Eagles +3.5 at Redskins 6:55pm ESPN (Eagles 33 Redskins 27)
Kelly’s up tempo offense will have the Skins sucking air in the 4th and the Eagles keep it close.
Texans -4.5 at Chargers 10:20pm ESPN (Texans 31 Chargers 28)
The Texans will jump on the Chargers early and put them away.
