2013 College Football Primer Week 3

pocketsI had a tough time on the college football betting front last week and I am looking for a big week to recover.  After last week I am sporting an 11-9 record so let’s get started.

#16 UCLA at #23 Nebraska -4.5 12pm ABC

The Bruins beat the Cornhuskers in LA last year and Nebraska is looking to return the favor in Lincoln.  The Bruins got the win by hanging 653 yards on the Huskers, but I don’t think the sledding will be that nice this time around.  Nebraska gets the win at home.

#7 Louisville -12.5 at Kentucky 12pm ESPN

The Wildcats are about the only team left that can give UL at test.  They won’t.  Bridgewater and the Cardinals win big.

Tennessee at #2 Oregon -25.5 3:30pm ABC

Oregon has won 21 straight home games against unranked teams, while the Volunteers have lost 16 in a row and I don’t see those streaks ending.  I do see the undefeated Butch Jones led Vols keeping this game inside the 25 point mark and covering the spread.

#1 Alabama -7.5 at #6 Texas A&M 3:30pm CBSBama

The win in Alabama last year made Manziel a legend and a Heisman frontrunner, but this years matchup will have no surprises.  Look for the Tide defense to contain the A&M offense and for the A&M defense to have trouble stopping Bama.  Saban is 15-2 in rematch games and I think he takes his record to 16-2 today.

#4 Ohio State -15.5 at California 7pm FOX

The Buckeyes hit the road for the first time this season and make the trip to Berkeley.  It looks like Miller will play, but I don’t know how good a decision that is.  I’m thinking about making this my upset pick, but I think the Buckeyes win a close one.

#25 Ole Miss at Texas -3.5 8pm

Ole Miss is ranked for the 1st time this year and they travel to a team in turmoil.  I can’t believe that the Rebels are underdogs vs. the Longhorns and I am all over this one.  UPSET SPECIAL.

#20 Wisconsin at Arizona State -4.5 10:30pm ESPN

Wisconsin will get their first test of the season with a road trip to Tempe and I think they got a game that travels.  The Sun Devils will be tough to beat in the heat in primetime, but Gary Andersen and the Badgers will be ready.
