BREAKING NEWS: Lebron James Is Going Back Cleveland

I spoke with a guy that knows a guy that is related to a guy that says he knows everything about Cleveland, and he said that Lebron is back.  100% locked down back in Cleveland.  You heard it here first.

UPDATE:  My source also claims that Jake Taylor will come out retirement and lead the Indians to the 2014 World Series.

NBA Playoffs Preview: Round 1

We finally made it. The best playoffs in professional sports are finally here. I challenge you to show me another sport where you can definitively say that the best team wins the title year after year. That’s the beauty of the NBA. If you want randomness and fluke wins, look elsewhere. But if you want to see the best basketball the world has to offer, you’ve come to the right place. After the jump, I’ll preview the first round and give you our predictions. Let’s do this.

The Morning Dump: 2/11/12

The Mariners are holding on to that checkbook after some red flags about Felix Hernandez’s elbow should up in his physical.  I know my Dr. is thorough during my physical and can’t imagine how intrusive a physical is when $175M is riding on it.

imagesHow awesome is Lebron James playing right now?  30 points scored in the last 5 games with a FG% of over 70% in that span.

3 OTs for the Celtics vs. the Nuggets!  I was about to call whomever was playing the Celtics tonight my lock of the year, but then I realized they were playing the Bobcats and a group of tired old men should be able to beat them.

It looks like the Vikings are going to part ways with Percy Harvin and I am betting he ends up in a Patriots uniform after the dust clears.

The Paterno family has released their findings of the “Freeh Report” and they call it an attack against Paterno’s legacy.  When did the Paterno family become the victims of this? Continue reading

The Morning Dump: 8/9/12

Watched Piranha DD last night.  Not very good, but my 16-year-old self would have loved it.

Lebron James collected USA Basketball’s 1st triple-double in the win over Australia yesterday.  Plus no junk punches were thrown.

As much as their pitching worries me, I think the Yankee bats can carry them to a World Series.  I am just not feeling Texas or Anaheim now.

Congrats to May-Treanor/Walsh-Jennings on their 3rd gold medal, but I am very said that this year’s beach volleyball is over.  Only 1,451 days until Rio 2016. Continue reading

A Quick Ten: Top 10 NBA Players To Start A Franchise With

Here is my list of the 10 players that I would want to start an NBA franchise with.  This is not a list of the best players in the NBA so you will not see Kobe Bryant or Dwayne Wade on this list.  Here we go.

10.  Rajon Rondo (26)  A strong playoff run from Rondo puts him in the NBA elite and makes him the leader of the Celtics.

9.  Russell Westbrook (23)

8.  John Wall (21)  His game will take a big step this year with Beal and we will get to see how he leads an improving young team.

7.  Kyrie Irving (20)

6.  Deron Williams (28)

5.  Dwight Howard (26)  Has shown already he can carry a team deep in the playoffs and is a rare dominate big man in the league.

4.  Chris Paul (27)

3.  Kevin Love (23)  He scores, he rebounds and he defends.  Well Meat Loaf said it best, “Two out of three aint bad”.  He is already an MVP type player and if he improves his D, he will be one of the best.

2.  Kevin Durant (23)

1.  Lebron James (27)  3 MVPs, 8 All Stars, Great Defender and NBA Champion.  There is no question that Lebron is my first choice to build a franchise around.
