The Morning Dump: 12/26/12

It was a solid slate of Christmas day NBA action yesterday.  The Lakers beat the Knicks for their 5th straight win (back to .500) and have got to love getting Steve Nash back.  The Celtics dominated the boring Nets and the Heat beat the Thunder.  The NBA best Clippers won their 14th straight and don’t look to be slowing down.

DeMarcus Cousins’ indefinite suspension from the Kings lasted only one game.  Way to prove a point Sacramento.

Joey Porter is out of jail after paying off the $70Grrr he owed the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas.

I caught some of the Arizona/SDSU game and the Wildcats look pretty damn good. 

Next time the job send me down to Tampa, I might have to make a trip over to “Hogan’s Beach” and try out the mechanical shark.

Mark Faller of the Arizona Republic has turned in his baseball Hall of Fame ballot with nothing but his signature on it.  He is doing this as some sort of stupid protest that no one deserves his hall of fame vote this year.  If the BBWAA or the baseball Hall of Fame had any balls, they would never allow that ass clown to vote again.

It seems to me the NHL and the NHLPA are doing nothing to end this lockout.  They meet once a month and are fully intent on letting this thing drag all season.

If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the video of the guy giving his dad BCS championship tickets.  Priceless reaction from his pops.  Bama needs to step up and get these guys field passes.

2012-13 NBA Predictions

Tomorrow night the NBA season officially begins and we will all be treated to a full season after a full training camp. I’m beyond excited for this season and think it will once again be an incredibly intriguing season.

Good morning class, I’ll be your substitute today. I hope your dump will be efficient and enjoyable. There will no baseball talk here, so get over it. Please minimize the back talk, I don’t want to call your parents.

I hope you all had a great 4th and I am sorry for you poor fools that are working today.

Steve Nash left cash on the table to go to the Lakers and make a run at a NBA title.  I like the move and if they get Howard I really like it.

Going to Houston would be a great move for Jeremy Lin.  The Houston brand is big in China and will add up to big time ad dollars for Lin.  Even more than playing in NY.

I am leaning towards Doug Martin as my first pick in my dynasty league rookie draft.  What does that mean?  It means he will be hurt next year.  Draft accordingly.

The Minnesota Wild won big by enticing Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to come home.  It took $196m but they are coming home.  Will it make them Stanley Cup contenders is another story.

Joey Chestnut did his best Sasha Grey impersonation and dominated 68 hot dogs to win the Yellow Mustard Belt for the 6th time.

I like Tiger Woods chances this week at the Greenbrier Classic at the Old White TPC in WV.  I think the old Tiger is back.  Not the game but hooking up with Perkins waitresses again Tiger.
